less than 90 minutes til the recap of last year's "tough enough" and 5.5 hours til TE2 premieres. I plan to be otherwise occupied at 7pm, but won't miss the new ep. Two weeks from now I'll have seen the premiere of TAR2. Life is good.

Why is it that basketball is important enough to pre-empt first-run episodes of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" (BtVS)??? This is the third episode since January 1 to be pre-empted....well, the third first-run. There were several re-runs that were pre-empted. And why is it that the Phoenix UPN affliate can't reschedule the eps for the same time period? Last week I had to wait til Sunday night for the episode the rest of the country saw on Tuesday. Tonight's new ep will run on Saturday night (how fair is it to air a show with a younger demographic on 'date night'?)
End rant. At this rate, I'll give up on the regular programming and just live on my three reality shows. 48 hours and 50 minutes til the premiere of "Tough Enough 2." Maybe sometime I'll tell you the secret reason why this show about wrestling attracts me even though I don't watch actual wrestling matches. For now, I'm going to chat with some people (actually, it's flirting with women) online and then go to bed.

Busy day today. Watching past episodes of "Battle of the Seasons" and doing htmling. Yesterday I caught a marathon of the "Tough Enough" season. Looking forward to Thursday night.
Tonight, I have someone coming to cook me dinner. I'll need to go clean and shower soon. And set the vcr to tape "alias" in case she doesn't leave before that starts. One of my guilty pleasures. It's not quality like "24" or "West Wing", nor is it as fun as "Buffy", but something about it attracts me. I'd rather watch it than not. Or maybe I'll watch the deadbeat's DVD with my dinner date. We'll see.

Hmmm.....it only took me four tries, but here's the result:
| You are Rowlf! You don't draw attention to yourself much, preferring to keep your cool and stay in the background. | |
why did it take four tries? The quiz was weird. There were only two questions that actually had my choice as one of the options. All the rest I had to choose between 3-4 not-really-close-to-what-I-think. Those that know me will agree that I am NOT 1) the swedish chef, 2) fozzie the bear, or 3) kermit the frog. Rowlf is me. I am Rowfl. Since I was a kid and watched "The Muppet Show" on Saturday nights.

I'm a reality-tv slut. Well, not really. I remember watching the very first "Real World" on mtv. And the first "Road Rules"....but by the time "Survivor" came around, it didn't appeal. I admit to forcing myself through the first "Big Brother" and even watching the reruns of the first "Survivor" just to see what the hype was about. It was just too much hype and too much melodrama for me (once I grew out of it, that is).
Then, last year, a funny thing happened....and it happened twice: I happened upon reality tv that was almost reality. First one show, then another where it was an actual competition, not a "let's see what happens" or a "let's build political alliances and vote on each other." Watching people actually compete for something meaningful where ability and luck was more important than who allied with whom, there was an idea that kept me up late at night watching one show and had me skipping "West Wing" to watch the other.
Now my calendar is marked. "Tough Enough II" (TE2) premieres on Thursday, February 28th and "The Amazing Race II" (TAR2) previews on March 11th with the race episodes March 13th. I'm looking forward to them in a way I haven't looked forward to anything on television...since the original TAR and Tough Enough premiered last year!
We'll see how long it takes me to OD with both airing at once.....esp. when you add the "Battle of the Seasons" on "Real World/Road Rules Challenge" (which has managed to put so many people in the mix the melodrama factor is reduced while upping the ante on the actual challenges as people are dropped after every round instead of just a running total to the end). The woman who a year ago had had more than enough of the reality tv bs will soon be watching (and probably taping some) TWO HOURS of reality tv a week (more in the premiere weeks).
maybe I am a slut after all......just a very selective one!

I don't know where I'm going with this. Originally I had a specific idea for "Drawing Room" but I doubt that will materialize. I've had a slight itch to do a real blog, as opposed to my Journal. Maybe this is the place. My Perceptions are more articles/rants about my M/s life and the Journal is a place to reflect on what's going on daily (or more frequently what's *not* going on). Here I can be more capricious, more whimsical, more nonsensical.
or here will languish and die just like 90% of my "good ideas" that don't go anywhere. *shrugs*
